What an awesome thought to realize that God recorded our names in His book before we existed. He lovingly devoted Himself to creating our individual characteristics, then demonstrated His concern for us by making plans and divine appointments for our lives. Because human life is sacred to Him, like any devoted parent, he would sacrifice Himself for His children.
Throughout history a person's name identified them with a family, a tribe, or a nation. There was pride and honor in that lineage. Because we are believers and have accepted Christ as our Savior and God as our Father, we are part of a lineage that identifies us as the family of God, called Christians. Our lineage is recorded in God's timeless book of "love letters," which testify of His willingness to die so that we might receive a bountiful inheritance of eternal life.
