Anita fashioned the fish as a reminder of those who willingly laid down their work, followed Jesus, and began doing His work. They became fishers of men, like Christ, who demonstrated love and concern for all mankind.
It seems appropriate that the Greek word for fish, pronounced "ik thoos" should have special meaning for all Christians.
